2022’s Top Affiliate Marketing Programs for Newbies

If you’re new to affiliate marketing, you’re undoubtedly feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work you’ll have to perform.

Don’t be concerned. When I initially started, I was also overwhelmed.

I was already a successful company owner when I started the blog Investor Junkie in 2009. I’d dabbled in affiliate marketing with my prior company, but never really got into it.

There was so much to discover!

Use The Lowest-Paying Affiliate Programs Instead

Let’s start with a common misunderstanding. It’s one of the most prevalent blunders made by both new and experienced bloggers.

Rather, the first step to being a great affiliate marketer is to enrol in programmes that are related to your expertise.

All too frequently, I’ll come across a mother blogger who talks about things like raising kids, couponing, and cooking, but then goes on to talk about how you can start a side business by using Bluehost to establish a blog.

Huh?!

Now, I’m not snubbing parenting bloggers in particular. This is a phenomena I’ve observed in a variety of other verticals (niches).

And I understand: Bluehost offers one of the most profitable affiliate schemes available. However, that does not imply that it belongs on your website.

One of the most important aspects of successful affiliate marketing is promoting items that you either use or have no reservations about recommending to your audience. Your objective should be to establish a strong brand in your field and to establish yourself as an expert on related issues.

Don’t talk about or promote things that aren’t in your wheelhouse. It’s deceptive and alienates your target audience. Your readers will see straight through it right away.

That’s why this isn’t a “Top 9 Highest-Paying Affiliates in 2022” list. That is unquestionably the incorrect model to follow. I strongly advise you to disregard any affiliate marketer that advises you to do so.

Which Affiliate Marketing Programs Are Best for Beginners?

My affiliate network suggestions are based on the following criteria:

User-friendliness
Joining is simple, and there are a lot of merchants.
The wide range of services and specialties that may be promoted
Payments are made on time.

It’s important to remember that not all affiliate programmes are made equal. I’ve seen a lot of bad affiliate programmes in my time. This might be for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Affiliate marketing isn’t understood by the merchant, and how it differs from other kinds of promotion and marketing.
  • Affiliate traffic is solely sent to the merchant’s home page (a definite indicator they don’t know what they’re doing).
  • The tracking of clicks and conversions in affiliate marketing software is weak.
  • Payment conditions are poor, or the merchant takes a long time to pay for legitimate referrals.
  • Just a few examples…

Some of the affiliate networks I recommend aren’t even close to being among the best-paying affiliate programmes (cough Amazon). In reality, Amazon is the affiliate network of last option for me. But I’m not a newbie, and I understand how to optimise affiliate money.

You, on the other hand, are just getting started and have a whole different set of requirements. That is why it is at the top of my priority list.

In addition, my list of affiliate marketing schemes is far from complete. Thousands of affiliate programmes are available to pick from. Many of them aren’t even open to the public.

I’m sure there are affiliate programmes that would be more appropriate for your specialty. Furthermore, rather buying using a network, some merchants may ask you to build a direct connection with them.

These are the greatest affiliate networks for any novice, regardless of your topic. You can’t go wrong with any of them, and I strongly advise you to participate in all nine.

1. Amazon Associates

For many newbies, Amazon is the preferred affiliate network.

Now, Amazon Associates isn’t ideal – but that’s a topic for an other essay. This curriculum, on the other hand, is ideal for someone who is just getting started.

Amazon is one of the world’s largest and most reputable e-commerce platforms. If you want to connect to any for-sale items, Amazon is the place to go.

For example, Commission Junction, the second network on our list, used to have an affiliate programme for the software package Quicken. I had numerous Quicken affiliate links on my blog Investor Junkie, and they were all successful.

You’re already halfway there if you have an Amazon account – and who doesn’t? If you have a registered business, you should use your company’s details to sign up for Amazon.

The major difficulty with Amazon is that its affiliate programmes are only available in certain countries. If you get a lot of traffic from a specific nation, ensure sure your Amazon links are set up for that country.

Here are the 14 countries where Amazon has an affiliate programme, as well as the links to sign up:

I propose the WordPress plugin AAWP if you want to better manage your Amazon affiliate connections. This plugin may generate Amazon links that are tailored to the nation of each site visitor. AAWP can also show current Amazon pricing and develop product description boxes, which will help your site convert more visitors.

Larry’s Opinion
AAWP is the WordPress plugin to utilise if you want to make money through the Amazon Associates programme. It can not only make links to Amazon goods, but it can also construct summary boxes with descriptions, photos, and pricing that refresh automatically. You may also easily construct product comparison pages.

2. Commission Junction (CJ)

Commission Junction is the second-oldest affiliate network on the internet, right after Amazon. The corporation is commonly referred to as “CJ” by industry insiders. It’s a network, not an e-commerce business, unlike Amazon.

Our implies that CJ, like the other networks on this list, will connect you (the affiliate) with merchants and manage the majority of your interactions.

This may be a blessing if you’re a beginner affiliate marketer because you won’t have to work directly with a merchant.

CJ’s service is used by over 1,500 businesses at the time of writing. This network has merchants in a wide range of categories, thus it’s strongly suggested that you join.

CJ’s registration process is straightforward. However, once you’re in, you’ll have to apply to particular merchants. The application procedure varies in difficulty depending on the merchant. Some will approve your application right away, while others may take a few days, and a few will keep you waiting indefinitely.

3. Impact

On this list, Impact is one of the newer affiliate networks. Former workers of Commission Junction, Savings.com, and Leadpoint launched the startup in 2008.

At the time of writing, Impact’s network included over 1,000 retailers. Like Commission Junction, there’s a wide range of merchants to choose from that should cover most verticals.

Impact’s application procedure is a touch more difficult than CJ’s, however once in, I’ve found it simpler to get approved by merchants.

Impact’s reporting and postback capabilities, in my opinion, are far more versatile than those offered by other affiliate programmes. I always choose Impact first if a retailer has various affiliate networks (which is typical).

4. Awin

The following item on the list is likely to be one you’ve never heard of. Awin is a relatively fresh addition to the team. In August 2017, it was formed by the combination of two previous affiliate networks, Zanox and Affilinet.

Awin is one of the better networks, with over 8,000 merchants and is extremely easy to use. If you have foreign visitors, I prefer Awin because it has affiliate networks in many countries. Keep in mind, though, that Awin’s merchants appear to be more focused on physical things than software or SaaS.

5. ShareASale

ShareASale is owned by Awin and offers some of the greatest merchant options. Currently, ShareASale works with over 1,000 merchants that sell everything from real goods to software services. This is ideal for this website’s internet marketing goal.

The application procedure is straightforward, and you may get conversion statistics from current affiliates. My main complaint is that most businesses only provide a limited amount of links.

One of the benefits of the ShareASale service is that it allows you to see how productive the merchants you deal with are. The average sale, conversion rate, EPC (profits per click), and how they rank in the ShareASale service are all provided by ShareASale.

6. FlexOffers

FlexOffers is the next item on the list.

FlexOffers frequently provides the same affiliate programmes as other networks like CJ. FlexOffers has more than 12,000 businesses in its database. It’s one of the biggest affiliate networks out there.

FlexOffers works with a lot of merchants directly, but it’s also a “sub-affiliate” platform. This implies that FlexOffers joins a merchant’s affiliate programme and allows bloggers to utilise its affiliate links instead of directly applying to the retailer. In exchange, you’ll divide the commission with FlexOffers for each affiliate registration.

FlexOffers can function as a go-between for you if you’re having trouble getting into a certain affiliate network since you’re just starting started.

Of However, because FlexOffers requires a cut of each transaction, the payments are frequently lesser.

The FlexOffers enrollment procedure might be tedious. FlexOffers is partly accountable for the quality of conversions because it is a sub-affiliate, which means it may be picky about which affiliates it accepts into its network.

FlexOffers, on the other hand, is a terrific alternative for new affiliates and well worth applying for. Just make sure your website is up to date and attractive.

7. Sovrn //Commerce

Although I am not a big believer of employing automation to post merchant connections on a site, some affiliates want to make money quickly. This may be accomplished with Sovrn /Commerce. This product was previously known as VigLink.

CPC (cost-per-click) and CPA (cost-per-acquisition) merchants are available through the programme.

Sovrn /Commerce uses a WordPress plugin or Google Tag Manager to automatically put affiliate links into your blog entries. Sovrn /Commerce is the way to go if you’re searching for a simple approach to monetize using affiliate links.

Rather to employing the automated method, I utilise Sovrn /Commerce links directly in my text.

Svrn / Commerce on user-generated material, such as a forum on your site, is a more logical solution. In addition, the firm provides vBulletin and phpBB as choices.

Skimlinks, like Sovrn /Commerce, will build affiliate links in your articles for you automatically. This can be a useful choice for material that is developed without your input (such as a forum).

You may manually input links as well. Currently, Skimlinks works with over 24,000 merchants in a variety of specialty marketplaces. I also recommend that you join up for this one.

9. Fiverr

The serviceFiverr is the last but not least.

Fiverr is a standalone service. The good thing about Fiverr is that you may promote a variety of services that a blogger, small business owner, or contractor could require for their own company. There are hundreds of freelancers to pick from, and it’s a terrific method to provide your audience answers.

I think it’s fantastic that you can earn up to $1,000 each referral on Fiverr!

But, as I previously stated, I do not advocate Fiverr just because of their high-paying alternatives; instead, if you own a website that advises various business services, Fiverr is an excellent marketplace to recommend to your audience.

Although Fiverr is available through CJ, I prefer going straight since the conditions are better and the connection is more active.
